The 2004 Coloma Glad
Peach Car Show was held on August 8th 2004 in Downtown Coloma,
Michigan. The show is part of a larger "Peach Festival" which
means that there were many other activities going on at the same
time. There were carnival rides, live
bands, arts and crafts vendors, and many other things.
On the way to the show
it started to rain and continued until nearly 8:00. Once the
rain stopped, everything dried quickly and the sun came out for the
rest of the day. There were some awesome vehicles in
attendance (over 150) and the spectator crowd was huge as well.
One thing that I like about this show is that they try to appeal to
younger cruisers as well. It was nice to have so many classes
of vehicles (especially newer than 1972) and it is very cool that
their DJ played a wide variety of music...from oldies to modern
rock. Some of the folks don't care for the modern music so
much, but they need to realize that there are plenty of people at
car shows that get awful tired of hearing "She's real fine, my 409",
over and over and over and over again.
This is a great show to go to and if you have a
chance you should check it out next year!
