The 2003 Apple Festival Custom Car and Truck Show
was held on September 27, 2003. This has always been a great
show to go to in the past and this year was no exception! It
was a cool day in the low 60's and there were a few times when it
drizzled rain, but it was mostly sunny during the day. When
you arrive at the show they ask that you register and classify the
vehicle before you park. This allows the vehicles to be parked
in numerical order. Confusion sets in when vehicles park
before they register and then they are not classified. Once
everyone was parked and settled, things went smoothly for the rest
of the day. There are many things that make this a great show
to attend from year to year. The quality and amount of
the door prizes and raffles is awesome. There are an
extraordinary amount of vehicle categories...this makes it very fair
because similar vehicles are always compared against each other.
Also, many people get to receive an award that may not normally be
eligible for awards in other shows. This makes it much more
rewarding and enjoyable for most people. If you get bored at
the show you can walk across the street to the Apple Festival
grounds and enjoy the carnival rides, food, and arts and crafts.
If you have a chance to attend next year, it is highly recommended.
